Aloha Bestie, I don’t even dance, but somehow I’ve become emotionally invested in whether a guy on TikTok learns how to Dougie. If you haven’t seen it yet, here’s the video everyone’s been talking about. It finally landed on my For You page, and now I’m fully cheering him on. What’s interesting isn’t the dance. It’s why so many of us care. So I started asking myself a few questions. Q: Why is this working so well? Because we’re watching something unfold in real time. Q: Is it because he’s amazing at it? Not really. It’s because he’s learning out loud. Q: What does this have to do with marketing or content? People don’t connect to polish. They connect to progress. That’s something we’ve been circling around in the last few emails. First, we cleaned up the foundation. Then we talked about planning from real life. Then we talked about reducing decision fatigue. This is what all of that looks like in action. You don’t need a perfectly packaged message to show up. You just need to let people see the process. That’s been very real for me lately too. Next week I’m heading to Tennessee for a writing workshop, and today my biz bestie and I spent the entire day fine-tuning our run of show and rebranding our podcast after 150 episodes. It’s a big shift, and we’re still in the middle of it. We are always looking for guest We’re not waiting until it’s flawless to talk about it. We’re letting it be seen while it’s taking shape. (psst...want to be a guest?) That’s the part people connect to. So here’s your one action this week: 👉 Share one thing you’re learning out loud. That could be a post, a story, a note, or just saying it out loud to yourself. And if you do share it publicly and want someone cheering you on, feel free to tag me. I’d love to support you there. Progress beats perfection every time. Selena 🌺 your techie bestie P.S. Hereʻs your bookshelf of my recent emails you may have missed.
