Aloha Bestie!

Yesterday I had a session with a client that was supposed to be about mapping out her next steps. Instead, we spent most of the time untangling a tech issue that completely stopped her momentum.

She had done everything “right.”
Set up her tools.
Followed the rules.
Built a process where proposals go out and invoices get paid.

And then one small tech restriction — completely out of her control — paused the entire system.

What hit me wasn’t just the technical problem. It was the frustration underneath it.

Because when tech isn’t your strength, something breaking can feel like a personal failure — even when it’s not.

Here’s the part that matters:

We couldn’t move forward with strategy or roadmapping until the first step of her client process worked again.

So instead of pushing ahead, we paused.

We talked it through. We named the options. And we reminded her that a setback doesn’t erase everything she’s built.

I see this a lot.

People try to move forward — running ads, promoting offers, posting more — while something foundational is still unstable.

That’s like inviting people over for dinner when the house is still mid-cleanup.
It doesn’t mean you’re bad at hosting.
It just means the timing is off.

The real work isn’t avoiding setbacks.
It’s knowing how to respond to them without losing momentum or confidence.

Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is stop, stabilize the system, and then move forward.

Since it’s Valentine week, I’ll mention this briefly for anyone who wants extra support right now:

I’m part of the F*ck This Valentine’s bundle, which runs through February 21st. It’s a collection of tools designed to help you clean up your messaging, systems, and offers — without pressure or perfection.

Totally optional, but it’s there if you want structure while you’re building clarity.

If you like seeing how these lessons show up in real life, I shared a few reflections over on Instagram this week. It’s just where I think out loud visually.

Clarity first. Marketing second.

Aloha Bestie, I don’t even dance, but somehow I’ve become emotionally invested in whether a guy on TikTok learns how to Dougie. If you haven’t seen it yet, here’s the video everyone’s been talking about. It finally landed on my For You page, and now I’m fully cheering him on. What’s interesting isn’t the dance. It’s why so many of us care. So I started asking myself a few questions. Q: Why is this working...
